Wrightsville is a straight shot down I I also agree that you may want to spend the night so you aren't rushed. Calabash is where calabash seafood originated and it's wonderful. I would probably suggest Myrtle Beach for the whole tourist immersion experience and drive up to Calabash for a wonderful dinner at Ella's, unless you are looking for super fancy or a crap ton of food.

If that's the case, I'd stay in Myrtle Beach and hit one of the finer dining places or one of their buffets. Google maps says 5 hours and 38 minutes both ways. If its wrong, I doubt there is enough difference to be significant.
